From Flame to Flora!

Explore the art of sculpting botanical forms in borosilicate glass in this hands-on introductory flameworking class. Using clear and colored glass rods, students will learn foundational techniques including cutting, shaping, color application, and assembly. Through demonstrations and guided practice, participants will create leaves, petals, stems, and other plant-inspired elements while developing an understanding of layering color and constructing larger forms from multiple components.

The class is evenly divided between demonstration and hands-on studio time, allowing students to build confidence at the torch while working at their own pace. Techniques covered include shaping solid rod, creating surface texture, layering color for depth and detail, and joining separate glass elements using bridge-building methods. Students are encouraged to draw inspiration from their favorite plants and flowers and will leave with a finished botanical glass sculpture of their own design.

*This is a 2-day weekend course.*

Class meets Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th: 11am – 4pm both days.

$585 + booking fee.
