Two Day Kiln Casting Workshop

How do you form glass into a desired shape? This two day introductory workshop will help you understand how glass moves and behaves through kiln casting and the Lost Wax Technique.

Glass casting is the process of melting glass into a mold. The lost wax process, also called cire-perdue, allows for your personal, one of a kind intricate design to be imprinted onto the glass.

After a brief presentation of these two techniques, you will be invited to create your own drinking glass inspired by goblet designs. If you would like a specific design on your glass, please bring ideas and drawings ready to carve into the wax.

We will work with wax models, pour refractory molds, and you can expect to leave with one casting cup.

Saturday, July 15 and Saturday, July 22, 11am – 4pm. $550 + booking fee. All materials included.

No experience necessary.
