FW2: 8 Week Intermediate Flameworking

Prerequisite: FW1: Introduction to Flameworking or equivalent flameworking experience.

This 8-week intensive will build, refine, and hone competency for working with borosilicate glass. Students should expect to both reinforce fundamentals and develop new skills for creating unique works of glass art. The course promotes experimentation and realization of independent student projects.  Intermediate techniques include but are not limited to: solid sculpting, bridging, pulling points, hollow and solid seals, hollow sculpting, and color application.

Each course is uniquely designed and dependent on the instructor’s syllabus. As the course develops, the instructor will guide students through practical exercises, and advise on independent projects. A combination of classroom instruction, demonstrations, and independent work time will be utilized to guide students through technical advancement and individual projects.

Each class is 3 hours long and meets once a week for 8 consecutive weeks. Wednesdays, 6pm – 9pm.

Free Open Studio Days are included in your registration. Throughout the duration of the course and with teacher approval, students can book a three hour time slot in the studio once a week to work on class projects or additional pieces. You will just pay for materials used. Please make a reservation with dana@brooklynglass.com to book a table.
