Spoooooky Fusing Class

"Fall is one of the best times to be a kid in NYC. The parks and playgrounds have cooled to touchable temperatures, the hot coco and cider vendors appear, and don't forget Halloween! Trick or treating is great, but wouldn't it be fun to make something this season that lasts longer than that bag of candy?

Join us for our "Spoooooky Fusing Class" aimed at getting kids into the glassblowing studio. But don't fret, this class is for all ages! Create one of a kind frightening cool glass trinkets this fall. Turn them into ornaments, necklaces, pins, and more.

Fusing is the process of joining specifically arranged glass pieces together. We use a kiln to bring the glass to 1400℉ which melts the pieces you arrange together! Students will cut, arrange, and collage the glass to their liking outside of the kiln in the cold shop. Fusing does not involve working with hot glass, all of the glass is solid and at room temperature. So this class is perfect for kids and adults alike who want to stay out of the heat. Students will also utilize various cold working techniques like polishing and cutting to refine the shape of their glass pieces.

Class runs for 3 hours, and is $150. Children will expect to make 2-4 small to medium fused pieces. Sign up via Eventbrite or by calling us directly today!"
